Finding Our Place

O Lord, I love the house in which you dwell, and the place where your glory abides.
— Psalm 26:8

During this late summer season, I invite you to reflect on the psalmist’s words, “I love the place your glory abides.” This simple phrase carries much meaning and beckons us into a spirit of finding our place.

So, what places have you found this summer? Where have you discovered God’s glory abiding? Has it been a familiar place, like a cozy nook in your home, where you’ve been able to read or reflect or gaze out a window? A backyard garden? A nearby walking trail? Have you had a chance to travel or take a drive, and discover a new landscape? Maybe you’ve seen God’s glory abiding in a beautiful tree, in blossoming flowers, or summer produce? Or perhaps you’ve seen God’s glory in butterflies or bees or birds, or any of God’s incredible creatures we live alongside.

I love the places God’s glory abides.
